Forty years of looking outward
The festival’s anniversary edition kept international cinema in the city’s spring conversation.
Filmfest DC marked its 40th anniversary in 2026 with an April 16–26 festival. Its published materials framed a program that reached across countries and genres, including music-related selections, justice-focused films, thrillers and comedies. The anniversary gives this edition a longer perspective than a single premiere.
