A world tour on a Washington map
Passport DC’s Around the World Embassy Tour connected diplomacy and cultural discovery.
Events DC’s Around the World Embassy Tour took place on May 2 as part of Passport DC. The program opened participating embassies to visitors and offered a way to encounter the cultures represented in Washington through their own institutions.
The tour belongs in an archive of local pop culture because it changes how a familiar city can be explored. Instead of treating embassies only as diplomatic addresses, the event made them part of a public cultural itinerary. Participation and activities varied by embassy; the organizer’s page is the source for the tour, rather than a guarantee that every mission offered the same experience.
