Hollywood in the DMV: a film call reaches DC and Dulles

A production notice can reveal the local machinery behind the movie business. Grant Wilfley Casting’s GWCI On Location page posted a May 11 call for a feature identified as AIG, with Washington and Dulles shooting scheduled June 3–4. It sought local adults for paid background work, including availability, current photographs and wardrobe sizes.

The Hollywood connection now has a named film and cast to follow. Netflix’s May 19 announcement confirms that Kerry Washington stars in and executive-produces An Innocent Girl, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. James Marsden, Chloe East and Colman Domingo are also in the cast. The thriller is set around a powerful Washington couple.

PoPville’s June 5 follow-up identified the Netflix filming reported around DC as An Innocent Girl, relaying a reader’s report that Chloe East and Kim Dickens were filming locally. That identification is attributed to local reporting; GWCI’s own notice uses the identifier AIG. The two records are presented with their different levels of detail, rather than treating the casting abbreviation as an official release title.

This gives readers a Hollywood-in-the-DMV connection without manufacturing an inside tip. Netflix confirms Washington’s role in the film; the casting notice alone does not prove that she, Marsden or Domingo appeared on the DC/Dulles set.
