Natalia Lafourcade, up close

Strathmore’s April calendar brought Natalia Lafourcade to North Bethesda for two dates on the Cancionera tour. The venue described the presentation as a solo performance with guitar. That format matters: it put the writing and the voice at the center of a concert listing that offered a different scale from the region’s arena shows.

For this retrospective, the useful distinction is between the advertised format and an eyewitness account. The two dates document a Maryland stop for Lafourcade; they do not establish a setlist or how either audience responded. Read alongside the larger tours later in this archive, the booking shows how the DMV’s music calendar spans intimate presentations and major touring productions.
