A tight first set gave Washington’s men’s final its hinge point. Taylor Fritz won the tiebreak 7–2, then took the second set 6–4 against Rafael Jódar to claim the title. The rain-delayed match finished on August 3.
Fritz’s first title of the season brought an American winner to the capital’s summer tournament. The two-set score records a contest settled by a first-set tiebreak and a narrower second-set margin, rather than a runaway. Read alongside Eala’s comeback, it gives this edition two distinct championship endings.
