The region’s golf calendar has room for a state championship as well as a global tour. Columbia Country Club hosted the Maryland Amateur June 4–7. The MSGA’s champions record names Manor Country Club’s Kyle Gebhart as the winner and Matthew Cocorikis as runner-up.
This is local golf on its own terms: a Maryland title decided in Chevy Chase, close to the District’s border. The verified winners belong in the same June sporting archive as the region’s professional teams. The accessible champions record does not provide the final match margin, so this report lists the result without inventing a score.
