Consistency can be dramatic. Billy Peel recorded 67 in each of his three rounds at the July 13–15 Maryland Open, reaching 201 and finishing three strokes ahead of Josh Speight. An amateur from Columbia Country Club took the title at Argyle in Silver Spring.

Peel, Speight and Jake Griffin began the final day level. Peel’s late birdies on the 15th and 16th helped separate him from the field, according to the MSGA’s official recap. This was a close contest that became a clear victory, with the decisive work happening late in the round.
