Tournament highlight · Tournament result. This coverage does not claim an established personal rivalry.

Rockville hosted a national championship with two returning winners at its center. At the July 6–8 U.S. Adaptive Open, Kipp Popert captured the men’s title again and Kim Moore won the women’s championship. Popert finished with 198 strokes, 18 under par; Moore’s total was 228, 12 over.

These are separate championship results, not a head-to-head comparison between the two totals. USGA’s report identifies Popert’s fourth consecutive title and Moore’s third overall. Woodmont’s place in this summer’s archive broadens the sporting picture beyond arena schedules: national golf competition was happening in Montgomery County, too.
